Building a caring economy filled with ethical business leads to broad prosperity and expanded freedom for everyone. Freedom is the strategic reason we need an empathy surplus in our country. The Empathy Surplus Project is a UN Global Compact member committed to expanding healthcare human rights, partnering with Rotarians, and encouraging businesses and cities to join the Global Compact. To make this happen we will -- protect -- respect -- promote -- the Ten Principles of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

  1. Public government, as well as, political parties, at all levels have a duty to PROTECT caring citizens from human rights abuses from privateers and their accomplices inside government, especially unethical business privateers, by creating the laws and ordinances that govern a caring economy.
  2. Businesses have a responsibility to RESPECT human rights.
  3. Caring citizens have a mutual responsibility to PROMOTE effective government and ethical businesses to achieve the caring economy we all want.

The "protect, respect, and promote" includes three critical questions of the Sustainable Development Goals that form the context of our work:

  1. How is poverty created?
  2. Why is growth the only option?
  3. Who is developing who?

And/Or Join the Healthcare Is A Human Right Collaboration as a Photo Petitioners

  • When you or your family seek healthcare, is it free from hassle?
  • Are you and your family free to choose your own doctor and is your care affordable?
  • Are you and your family free from fear of privateer insurance companies or their enablers inside government (1) denying you care or (2) making it harder for you to get care or (3) causing you financial hardship or ruin because of costly procedures?
  • If you are a healthcare provider, are you free from worry about being paid for your services?
  • If you have been harmed by your healthcare provider, are you free to pursue due process for damages?
  • Are you free from confusing and costly administrative procedures that make getting care easy?
  • Are you free to access preventive care, like public gyms, pools, healthy food, clean water, clean air, etc.

If you answered NO to any of these questions, you might want to consider joining the Healthcare Is A Human Right Collaboration modeled after Vermont's Healthcare Is A Human Right Campaign. Support our work and order the Cup of Kindness. Look what photo petitioners did in Vermont.
